Land grabbing seminar
On 29-30 October IWGIA hosted a two-day seminar on the issue of indigenous peoples and land grabbing. Indigenous peoples as well as experts on indigenous peoples' rights and the issue of land grabbing gave presentations at the seminar.
The issue of land grabbing is of the utmost importance as indigenous peoples’ right to land is increasingly under pressure due to the expansion of agribusiness and extractive industries the world over.
The seminar was attended by around 75 participants from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe representing international organisations, indigenous peoples’ organisations, the private sector, and donor agencies.
Presentations and documents from the seminar are available for download to your right.
