New Executive Director for IWGIA

On 1 June 2016, experienced Danish development and human rights profile, Elsebeth Krogh, will join IWGIA as Executive Director

“With her long experience and deep insights in the field of human rights and development, we are confident that Elsebeth Krogh is the right person to strengthen the innovative and strategic thinking of the organisation”, says IWGIA’s Chairman of the Board, Frank Sejersen. 

Elsebeth Krogh holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Scandinavian International Management Institute and a Master of Science in Economic Geography from the University of Copenhagen and comes from a position as Director of the Danish Center for Culture and Development (CKU) – a self-governing institution under the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  

Elsebeth Krogh will be bringing broad experience from the field of human rights based development, strategic leadership and fundraising to her new job as Executive Director of IWGIA.

She has been working more than 35 years in the field of international development and humanitarian assistance. She has been a partner in the Nordic Consulting Group, International Director of DanChurchAid for 12 years, a senior consultant at Cowi and member of the Board of Danida for nine years before she, in 2010, established a private  consultancy firm. In 2012 she took over the position of director at the Center for Culture and Development that she is now leaving.
