Visit of the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples to Argentina

This DVD includes a video documenting the Rapporteur’s visit to Argentina, an interview with James Anaya on his work as Special Rapporteur and his report on the situation of Argentina’s indigenous peoples.

The UN Special Rapporteur, James Anaya, vistied Argentina from 27 November to 7 December 2011 to find out about the human rights situation of the country’s indigenous peoples. Whilst acknowledging the important steps taken by the Argentine state to recognise indigenous rights in the country, he also noted a significant gap between the legal framework established in favour of indigenous peoples and its actual implementation.
