During the last almost 40 years IWGIA has published extensively about crucial topics and events that affect indigenous peoples all over the world. Colombia: El Caso Del Naya

Las violaciones a los derechos fundamentales de la población negra, indígena y campesina del Pacífico colombiano, conceptuadas por todas las fuerzas armadas, regulares e irregulares, como "daños colaterales" de todo enfrentamiento armado, podrían tener objetivos propios e independientes del conflicto armado interno colombiano. El desarraigo territorial de estos pueblos sería un objetivo más, y no una consecuencia de la contienda. Esto se deduce de los maridajes entre acciones armadas, despojos de tierras comunitarias y legalizaciones amañadas de estas usurpaciones.

Asuntos Indígenas 4/07

This issue of Asuntos Indígenas focuses on social suffering. It brings articles about issues such as diabetes among indigenous peopels, the situation of the San people in Southern Africa, the situation in Lao PDR, suicide among the Inuit youth, and the aboriginal affairs in Australia. The editorial is written by Jack Hicks, and the editors are Jack Hicks and Sille Stidsen.

La otra palabra. Mujeres y violencia en Chiapas, antes y después de Acteal

By Rosalva Aída Hernández Castillo, coordinadora, CIESAS y IWGIA 2007. This is the second edition of the translation of the English IWGIA Document The other word
: Women and Violence in Chiapas Before and After Acteal which was published in 2001. The book is about the masacre in Chiapas, Mexico in 1997 where 32 women and 13 men were killed. Various human rights organisations wrote detailed reports of the massacre and different media organisations produced their analyses as well. The voices and feelings of women that were lost among the numbers, cronologies, and political analyses of this mass of information are rescued in this book.
