What does IWGIA publish?
IWGIA publishes books that thematically or regionally focus on the most crucial issues of concern to indigenous peoples. IWGIA has published more than 150 publications since 1971. IWGIA's publications are written by indigenous and non-indigenous experts on culture, society, colonial history, international law and human rights.
The periodical Indigenous Affairs is published four times a year. It contains articles on current affairs concerning indigenous peoples, news in brief and comments.
The yearbook, The Indigenous World gives an overview of the most important events affecting indigenous peoples around the world.
IWGIA publishes in English and Spanish. A few publications are in French, Russian, German, Swedish, Philippine, Swahili, Thai, Hindi and Portuguese. Have a more detailed look at the Publication section.
IWGIA are publishing a Danish language document series: Hvem er de indfødte folk? / Who are the indigenous peoples? The series consist of a number of illustrated booklets (about 30 pages) informing about indigenous peoples. The booklets are aimed at secondary school or the generel interested non-academic reader.
IWGIA's publications are available by subscription or are for sale on an individual basis via the website, e-mail or fax through the secretariat. Some of the publications can also be downloaded for free.
