Lærke Marie Lund Petersen has a leg in both Asia and Latin America, as she coordinates IWGIA’s REDD+ project in Myanmar and Peru. Lærke has a special focus on indigenous peoples’ rights to forests and natural resources, especially related to the REDD+ mechanism, and at international level within the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. Lærke holds a master's degree in Cultural Geography from the University of Copenhagen. From several stays and fieldwork abroad, primarily in Latin America, Lærke has developed excellent cross-cultural skills as well as fluency in Spanish.
