Miscellaneous Information:

Chin Human Rights Organization (CHRO) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization formed in 1995. It is registered in Canada, with branch offices in India, Thailand, and in the United States. CHRO focuses on national and international promotion and awareness campaigns on indigenous peoples’ rights, humanitarian assistance, refugee concerns, empowerment, and capacity building.

CHRO is engaged in regional and international lobbying and advocacy work with human rights processes and mechanisms. Largely, they focus on the Chin State and the regions on the border between Western Burma, India, and Bangladesh. Since the beginning of the political reforms in Myanmar in 2012, the leaders of CHRO have worked with the civilian government both on a state level (Chin) and national level. CHRO facilitates awareness training on Indigenous Peoples Rights and networking sessions.
