Nepal is a landlocked country in South Asia. It is bordered by the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China to the north and India to the south, east and west. Nepal is also known as the country of Mount Everest ‘Sagarmatha jhomo-longma’, the highest peak in the world. The Himalaya mountain range runs across Nepal’s northern and western parts, and eight of the world’s ten highest mountains are situated within its territory.
