2014 saw the celebration of the first World Conference on Indigenous Peoples. Indigenous Peoples proactively influenced the themes and content of the Outcome Document to mirror many of their priorities established in the Alta Outcome Document, and the highest body of the UN committed to actively advancing the implementation of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
